On January 4, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Babel Books Berlin will host a presentation of the book The Best of All Possible Worlds: Philosophical Paths to the Absolute by philosopher and writer Anna Winkelmann.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This book is about the search for the Unconditional, or, in philosophical terms, the Absolute. The main character of the text is the reader himself. Moving from short chapters to more complex philosophical constructs, he travels a path from everyday intuitions about the world to metaphysical questions\u2014including the idea that the world might not exist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On this journey, the reader is accompanied by philosopher Friedrich Schelling, artist Caspar David Friedrich, and the author herself, Anna Winkelmann. At the most difficult turns, she talks about how philosophy not only changed her life, but at a certain point literally saved it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Anna Winkelmann is a philosopher and writer who taught philosophy at the National Research University Higher School of Economics in Moscow from 2019 to 2022. Since 2022, she has been a research fellow at Radboud University in the Netherlands. She also runs her own channel on philosophy and thinking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
