On March 27 at 7:30 pm, a meeting with journalist and writer Masha Slonim and a presentation of her new book, Returns. An Unserious Memoir, will take place in Berlin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
These are memoirs assembled from personal stories, observations, and recollections, about a life lived between countries, eras, and people. The book brings together samizdat, emigration, journalism, and private life, all told with lightness, irony, and precision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Masha Slonim is a journalist with the BBC Russian Service, a co-founder of the Moscow Charter of Journalists, and a witness to and participant in key events of the second half of the twentieth century. Her biography includes Anna Akhmatova, Joseph Brodsky, Vladimir Bukovsky, work at Ardis Publishers, and many years of life between different countries and contexts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
